—Welcome to an Olde Adventure—

Every year since 2018, we’ve rang in autumn with a good ol’ fashioned adventure ride in olde Charlotte (Washington) County. All are welcome and ya run whatcha brung. Snacking is encouraged. The route sufficiently chunky, on a path less taken.

At its best, the ride feels like a radical act after a summer of the normal road rules. It’s something best undertaken with friends. The descents are a gravelly blur and concurrently, the climbs glacially slow. Slow enough to realize you’re a part of the landscape and not on YouTube. Slow enough to contemplate a group of boulders. Slow enough to ponder a chilly stream. Or if you’re sufficiently cross-eyed, feeling like you’re floating above it all…like a hummingbird. Quick, grab a snack. The Sugarbench is hard and weird and may it always remain so.

木漏れ日,
